SEPTEMBER FAVOURITES.

Well, September has ended and it means we are now in the last three months of the year. How crazy is that?! To celebrate waving goodbye to September, I have put together a blog post showcasing some of my favourite things through the month of September!

To start off, let's take a look at makeup!

Now. Funny story, this palette you see here. This is the NUDES eyeshadow palette from Primark. Yes, you read that correctly, Primark! I actually bought this palette, along with a bunch of other makeup from the high street store, to just try it out and see how it was. After trying out this palette, it quickly grew to become one of my favourites! You may be surprised in learning that this is probably one of the best palettes I now own. The colours are incredibly pigmented and the last all day! The shades are super glittery, too, which satisfied my need for all things needing to be sparkly. The first shade you see there, too, the white one? It can be used as a super good highlighter along the brow and the inner of your eye. So, the fact that this beauty was only retailing at £2, I couldn't have been more happy about it!

I got this for my birthday back in March but it has taken me this long to try it out! This is the
Maybelline Master Strobing Stick Light, retailing at £7.99 at Superdrug. The reason I hadn't tried it until now is purely down to the fact that I am so used to using powdered highlighters, instead. Because of my love-hate relationship with my skin, cream highlighters tend to become flaky on my skin and it is just not pretty! However, my skin hasn't been too bad recently and so I decided to finally try it out! I have the shade light and IT IS SO PRETTY. The shade is a pink shade and it glides on so well. Also, it is incredibly easy to blend. It is very bright so what I tend to do is apply it beneath my foundation. It still gives me the glow but not too much!

Speaking of skin! With the sudden temperature change that seemed to hit on the first day of September, I have been paying close attention to my skin and giving it a little more TLC than usual. A couple of months ago, I discovered The Ordinary, a brand that specialises in skin care. I have always been intimidated and a little anxious when buying skincare products, just because I never know what is best and whether things are just going to be worse for my skin instead! Therefore, I have stuck with the same skincare routine and products for a good few years. But I was desperate for something new and different! After a friend over on Twitter spoke of her experimentation of moving over to this brand, I decided to look into it. I was immediately surprised at the affordability of the selection of products and the overly positive reviews. It meant that I had to give it a go.

The one thing about The Ordinary brand is that it is, in fact, really, really confusing! There's not much description on each of the products, and the majority of the products are pure formulations. This means that you really have to do your research before purchasing. So, after a little hunt around the internet, I made my purchase through ASOS and since have been thrilled with the stuff! The lactic acid 5% is used for the toning and textures on your cheeks, something that I have long had difficulty with. With the temperature dropping over the next couple of months, it's been good to prepare my skin for the weather change and this has really helped.

Next, we're looking into music!

There's only one album that I have been listening to, NON-STOP over the month of September and that is Death Of A Bachelor by Panic! At The Disco. Gosh, talk about a walk down memory lane with the mention of that band. In the years of 2007 to 2009, also known as my famous emo phase, I was a strong listener of Panic!, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and the likes. Ever since the release of A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, I have loosely followed the music of Panic! as my music taste fluctuated through different genres. It seems that this year, I have been dipping my toes back into some of the old material of my youth. What is nice is that majority of the bands that I used to religiously follow are still continuing to make music, unlike some... *cue flashback of the tears shed when My Chemical Romance split* Of course, since the release of Panic!'s first album, there has been some drastic changes with Brendon Urie now only, and remaining, member of the original formation. But HIS BEAUTIFUL VOICE IS STILL THERE. It has meant that in the past month, I have fallen down the hole of feeling like a 14-year-old girl again, obsessing over Brendon's voice and beauty and dancing around my bedroom to their pop-punk-rock tones.

If you were wondering, I am also listening to Panic! whilst writing this blog post. See?

Now we're moving on to food and drink!

JUST FOR KIDS?! That's a lie. I really, really enjoy smoothies but most of the time, I don't have the time to be making fresh batches. Not only that, fruit is expensiiiiive. At the moment, Tesco have an offer on for 2 boxes of Innocent Smoothies for £5! What I love about these smoothies is that they a soooo tasty and they're convenient. I just grab one with my morning plate of toast and it's delicious. This one, peaches and passion fruits is a particular favourite of mine!

(I did say food and drink but this section is just drink, oops.)

And there you have it. A little look into what I've been enjoying over the past month. I enjoy seeing what October has to offer.

Love,

Becca x
